Recently it had been reported that Lucy Lawless had been cast to be a part of the upcoming season of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.LD. Well, as with all things Marvel, people continue to come out of the woodwork so that they can jump onboard and join this ever growing cinematic universe.
In addition to Lucy (who we have learned will play Isabel Hartley, a long time S.H.I.E.L.D. veteran with a fondness for knives), we have learned about the following cast member additions:
- Nick Blood (The Bletchley Circle, Trollied), a young, up and coming British actor/director, will be playing Lance Hunter, a character from the Captain Britain comics from the 70’s and was the Director of S.T.R.I.K.E., the UK version of S.H.I.E.L.D. Lance is a mercenary whose services are enlisted by Director Coulson.
- Reed Diamond (Journeyman, The Mentalist) has been cast to play Daniel Whitehall, the new “villain” for the upcoming season 2. In the comics he also went by the name of Kraken, and was known to be an associate of Baron von Strucker. This could prove to extremely exciting given the Baron’s appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as this could even further build the synergy already existing in the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- Lastly, Simon Kassianides (Quantum Of Solace) will have a recurring role playing the character of Bakshi. Little is known about this character except that Deadline reported he will play “a confident right-hand man who’s not afraid to do the dirty work.”
Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return September 23, at 9|8c on ABC.
