CW Announces Falk Hentschel Cast To Play Hawkman In “Legends Of Tomorrow”

hawkman-146406In another bit of CW casting news, the CW has announced that Falk Hentschel (Arrested Development, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has been picked to play Carter Hall in the upcoming series Legends Of Tomorrow.

In the DC Comic Universe, Carter is an Egyptian Prince who reincarnates along with his soul mate, Kendra Sanders (Clara Renée), throughout all of time. They both have “hawk like” abilities through accessing the powers of Horus, the Egyptian Hawk God. It is through this power that they become the winged warriors, Hawkman and Hawkgirl.

Renée did have the briefest of cameos in the season one finale of The Flash, and pretty much the rest of the cast for Legends Of Tomorrow have already been introduced on either Arrow or The Flash.

In a statement by the CW, Hentschel will first show up in the crossover episodes between Arrow and The Flash, after which his character will continue on in Legends Of Tomorrow. Earlier reports had suggested that the remaining characters will have their introductions on either of those shows, but Hentschel’s debut is the first suggesting the use of crossover episodes, possibly in a strong attempt to help solidify the “universe building” being done on these CW shows. Whether or not Carter Hall is the only character to be premiered in this way is not yet clear.
