In casting news that probably most fans of the CW’s superhero TV shows have been waiting for, it has just been announced that Danish actor Casper Crump (Helium, Tarzan) has been cast to play the immortal (literally) villain, Vandal Savage.
In the DC Comic Universe Savage is described as an “immortal, having spent 6,000 years moving like a virulent disease through history, whispering in the ears of despots and dictators, all leading to his eventual domination of the world.”
As with the eventual premiere of Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) to take place during the crossover episode of Arrow and The Flash, Crump will make his presence known to the DC television universe at the same time, and will then continue to appear in the new CW series Legends Of Tomorrow.
So far all indications point to Savage being the primary enemy for the first season, much like Malcolm Merlyn was for Arrow, and there is every possibility he will return after his initial defeat at the end of the season much the same way that Merlyn has repeatedly returned.
Legends Of Tomorrow will premiere on the CW in January 2016.
