With all of the synergy that is building in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, movies referencing movies, and even TV shows referencing movies, people are asking the question if we will see the movies ever reference the TV shows, and if we can expect to see more crossovers between Marvel Studios Movies and Marvel TV. As always, Marvel Studios Guru, Kevin Feige, was on hand to offer some illumination on the subject.
“I think that’s inevitable at some point as we’re plotting the movies going forward and they’re doing the shows,” he explained.
Feige went into further detail about why it hasn’t happened more already by stating, “It’s easier for them. They’re more nimble and faster and produce things quicker than we do, which is one of the main reasons you see the repercussions of Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron in the show. Going forward and certainly as they begin to do more shows and cast them with such great actors as they have — particularly Daredevil — that that may occur. A lot of it is by the time we start doing a movie, they’d be midway through a season; by the time it comes out they’d be done with the second, starting the third season. Finding timing on that is not always easy.”
Based on how Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered there is yet again more evidence of how the movies are having an impact on the TV shows as we already see the fallout from Age Of Ultron, as well as how the story threads could take us right into Captain America: Civil War. But will they have a direct impact on the little world called Hell’s Kitchen and the Netflix properties taking place there? We already heard some reference made to the alien invasion of New York early in Daredevil. Will there be more “cross pollination” between these various properties? Only time will tell.
