Kara Zor-El will soon learn that there is yet another Kryptonian in addition to her famous cousin on Earth, but ComicBookResources.com reports that he’s is not wearing the symbol of the House of El.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Vance has joined the CBS series Supergirl in a recurring role as the DC Comics villain Non.
Made famous as one of the three central antagonists in the Christopher Reeve-starring Superman II, Non was a hulking Kryptonian in league with General Zod. In the Reeve film, Non was the silent strong type; however, the report by Hollywood Reporter describes a slightly different take on the character, calling him a “former scientist” and “a brutal Kryptonian military officer who is sinister, powerful and angry.”
The description seems more like General Zod than Non, but the scientist aspect calls back to a recent version of the character seen in the “Action Comics” run of Geoff Johns and original Superman director Richard Donner.
The character will first appear in episode eight of the series.
Supergirl debuts October 26 on the CW.
