Okay, this story already made the rounds and perhaps we’re a bit late jumping on it, but as I ranted in a previous article, it’s just me and Keith here at T G Squared Studios. While we both work from home, we do work full time so we do the best we can. Add to the fact that we were both updating our home computers yesterday so that took us “out of the loop” as far as reporting the news goes, and that is why this is story is being reported on today. Anyway…
The Two Gay Geeks learned yesterday that Powers Booth (Sin City, Deadwood, Nashville) has been selected to join the cast of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.in a recurring role as Gideon Malick. All we know about this character is that he is described as notorious, and his loyalties are unknown. Sharp-eyed fans might also remember him as a member of the World Security Council in Marvel’s The Avengers. Whether or not he’s actually playing the same character is yet to be determined.
When talking to Marvel.com Jeph Loeb (Executive Producer/Head of Marvel Television) simply described Boothe’s character as this:
“Gideon is incredibly menacing and in him we have a character that even the stone-cold Grant Ward would fear. Only someone of Powers’ caliber could deliver the type of ominous and powerful performance we needed.”
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 follows Coulson and his team as they track down new Inhumans popping up around the globe, they’ve already found out they’re not the only ones.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
