“Iron Fist” Is Really Happening, And It Has A Show Runner

Iron FistShortly after the latest Marvel/Netflix property Jessica Jones dropped there was immediately some concern as to whether or not there would be an Iron Fist, especially given the excitement surrounding the appearance of Punisher set for the second season of Daredevil. However it looks like the plan to have the martial-arts Defender is going to happen after all, and to top it all off they even have a showunner.

TG2 Studios has learned that Scott Buck, who has a myriad of credits include scripts for RomeEverybody Loves Raymond, as well as serving as executive producer for Dexter and Six Feet Under, will be the one in charge of the series that would help form Marvel’s Defenders crossover series, as reported by Comicbook.com

Now the next big question is, when will we see this series? We still have a second season of Daredevil as well as the upcoming Luke Cage which is currently in production. And despite some concern surrounding the future of Jessica Jones, there are some industry experts who are optimistic it will see a second season as well. Given that type of timetable, as well as the initially proposed idea that each of the series would either premier or return every six months, it looks as if we could see Jessica Jones in early 2017 with Iron Fist in the latter half of the same year.

The premise for Iron Fist is as follows:

“Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”

So does this news excite you, especially after the some of the initial stories that Iron Fist would only get a Netflix movie?
