Deadline has just broken the news that ABC is going ahead with a pilot episode for Marvel’s Most Wanted, which will be a spin-off of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., and that this order will star Adrianne Palicki as Barbara “Bobbi” Morse, aka Mockingbird, and Nick Blood, who plays mercenary ex-husband Lance Hunter. What is surprising is that the greenlight was given for the pilot back in August, but it was today that ABC President, Paul Lee, actually confirmed the pilot order.
“We are making it in the next few months. It’s a really good script.”
The project, originally developed last season and then reworked after the upfronts, comes from S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producers Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski.
Marvel’s Most Wanted is looking to join ABC/Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D., which is returning for a third season, and Agent Carter, which again will bridge S.H.I.E.L.D.’s half-seasons with its second installment. Lee today said that he was very happy with the current seasons of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter.
There is still the somewhat talked about Damage Control being made, which surrounds a cleaning crew who specialize in dealing with the aftermath of the unique fallout from super hero conflicts. Previous reports show that Marvel comedy is still in development.
Lee declined to discuss whether ABC is developing other Marvel projects. Asked whether he would like a Star Wars show, a reference to another major Disney brand, Lee joked, “There’s nothing I can do about that.”
Do you like that this series is going ahead, or should these two characters remain with Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
