Gorilla Grodd To Return In “The Flash” Season 3

Flash-Grodd-d0eafAt last weekend’s 2016 TCA press event, the executive producer Andrew Kreisberg did confirm that a certain simian will be making a return, and while that return will in all likelihood not happen in the remainder of Season 2, he was guaranteed to return in season 3, and for a multi-episode arc, as reported by ComicBookResources.com.

“I would liken the Gorilla City thing to Ra’s al Ghul. You know, you hear about ‘the man from Nanda part’ in ‘[Arrow’] Season 1, and ‘the man who showed Malcolm the way, and then you met Nyssa, then in Season 3 you met Ra’s. So, it’s a long-term thing.”

Grodd debuted during The Flash‘s first season, though the telepathic gorilla’s initial television depiction differed significantly from his comic book counterpart. In Season 2, the villain returned, and hewed more closely to his hyper-intelligent incarnation, having evolved considerably since viewers last saw him. By the end of the episode, Grodd was introduced to another classic DC Comics mainstay, Gorilla City, when he was teleported to earth 2 courtesy of that reality’s Harrison Wells.

Is this a good play for the CW to bring back Grodd, or should they continue on their mission of universe building?
