There is a new spin-off for “What We Do in the Shadows”
2014 saw the release of what was to become a favorite among fans of the horror/comedy genre, that being What We Do in the Shadows, a story about modern day vampires struggling with the more mundane aspects of present day society. It was a hit at Sundance, and even some news sites reported it as the funniest comedy of 2015.
Now that Shadows director/writer/actor, Taika Waititi, has landed the directing gig for Thor: Ragnarok, due out Nov, 7, 2017, he has become quite the talked about figure in the industry and festival circuit as he is out presenting his latest Sundance entry, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Craveonline had a chance to speak with him about possibly revisiting the land of the Kiwi vampires.
“Jemaine [Clement] and I are trying to write a werewolves spin-off, most likely be the next thing. It’s going to be called ‘We’re Wolves,’ like ‘We are wolves.’ We’re Wolves.”
In the meantime, “the next thing” is Thor: Ragnarok, which is aimed to close Marvel’s Cinematic Asgardian trilogy, and essentially picks up where Dark World left off where we saw Loki take the throne of Asgard. The story will reportedly center on a “distant planet” that is “not Asgard and not Earth.” It has also been confirmed that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will play a major part in the storyline alongside star Chris Hemsworth.
