Phoenix Comicon 16 gets closer each day. As it gets closer we hear about more guests and activities taking place between June 2nd and June 5th of this year.
One of those activities is the ongoing support for the Kids Need to Read Charity.
Please read the press release below and consider making a donation to this worthy cause that is supported by your Phoenix Comicon.
Phoenix Comicon Knows That Reading is Fundamental!
From science fiction to fantasy, to non-fiction and beyond, Phoenix Comicon has author guests for everyone!
Phoenix – Phoenix Comicon has always had a vested interest in authors, books, and libraries. From their involvement in library events to a long-standing relationship with Kids Need to Read (a national nonprofit foundation that promotes childhood literacy), it is immediately apparent how passionate this interest is. For more “proof” look no further than the guests that they “book”!
Amongst a host of other authors, be sure to visit Bishop O’Connell and Sarah Remy. Bishop is the author of the American Faerie Tale series, a modern-day dark fantasy series that will keep you coming back for more, while Sarah Remy is the author of the wonderful Malachi and Avani series, which includes Stonehill Downs and Across the Long Sea!
Mixing it up with the authors will be actress, Caity Lotz, who is well known for her portrayal of Sara Lance in CW’s series “Arrow” and its spinoff “Legends of Tomorrow”!
But wait! There are more guests!:
- Comic artist for Top Cow, Marvel, DC, and Aspen Comics, Beth Sotelo
- Artist and writer. Known for his work on 30 Days of Night, Fell, and more, Ben Templesmith
- Author of “Superheroes Anonymous”, Lexie Dunne
- Comic book cover artist of “Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love”, Chrissie Zullo
In addition to readers and authors winning big with this event, there is one another really spectacular item to note! “100% of revenue from the sale of the first one hundred Fast Passes will go directly to our chosen charity, Kids Need to Read. In the next few months we’ll be talking more about their efforts to put books directly into the hands of kids”, says Convention Director, Matt Solberg. Fast Passes are special memberships that can be purchased for faster access to guests as well as exclusive convention goodies.
A Full Event badge is good for all four days of the event, June 2-5, 2016. Pricing for the Full Event badge goes up the closer we get to the event. Quantities of Full Event badges are limited.
Full event passes are on sale for $60 until April 30th, with Sidekick badges (kids 3-12 years of age) available for only $5 through the event!
