There is no doubt that Jon Favreau is a very happy man right now given that his latest directorial film The Jungle Book is box office gold for Disney. In fact, he’s so happy that ComicBook.com is reporting that he’s looking to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, only this time sit in the last chair again for the Russo brothers’ next two films, Avengers: Infinity War parts 1 and 2.
Speaking in an interview, Favreau said:
“I’m going to be executive producing the Avengers films with the Russo brothers, which I’m very excited about. I talk to them about it all the time. I’ve worked both in front of and behind the camera with Marvel and I really love what they’re doing now.”
It’s not too big a surprise that Favreau is coming back on as an executive producer, as he’s had that role on Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Avengers, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. He’ll also be returning as producer and director for The Jungle Book 2 after the first film’s success with both critics and audiences. No word on whether Happy Hogan will make an appearance in Infinity War. Here’s hoping he gets the Gauntlet and saves the day.

Are we all happy that Favreau is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Can he help with the direction this Marvel ship is sailing?
