There is a new companion in town, and her name is Bill!
The BBC, using a new clip (which you can see below in this article) from the series, has announced the new companion to the long running series Doctor Who, and that companion’s name is Bill as played by Pearl Mackie.
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Doctor Who family. It’s such an extraordinary British institution, I couldn’t be prouder to call the Tardis my home…Peter Capaldi is such a brilliant actor, and his Doctor is such a wacky and wonderful character, I can’t wait to see what adventures are in store for him and Bill throughout time and space.”
ComingSoon.net is reporting that production on the next series of Doctor Who is set to begin this year, but won’t hit TV until 2017 though a new “Doctor Who Christmas Special” will air this year. Showrunner Steven Moffat will executive produce series 10, though it will be his final series with Chris Chibnall set to succeed him.
Doctor Who, which began broadcasting on BBC America in 2005, follows the Doctor, an alien from a race called the Time Lords whose home planet is Gallifrey is created by Sydney Newman (The Avengers), and Executive Produced by Russell T. Davies (Torchwood), Julie Gardner (Torchwood), Steven Moffat (Sherlock), Phil Collinson (Coronation Street), Piers Wenger (How I Live Now), Beth Willis (Doctor Who Confidential), Brian Minchin (Wizards vs. Aliens), Caroline Skinner (Our Girl), and Mal Young (Desperate Scousewives).

To be honest, I found her kind of annoying the clip. However, since it was just a teaser clip, I’m going to wait until I see her first full episode to start forming an opinion.
