The first international trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence is now available for watching, and for a trailer it’s pretty epic!
While past trailers have been just clips of the film, this trailer is 4 minutes and 34 seconds of pure awesomeness and destruction.
Many characters are given some good scenes in the trailer, including Liam Hemsworth as fighter pilot Jake Morrison, Maika Monroe as Patricia Whitmore, Bill Pullman as former President Whitmore, and Jeff Goldblum as David Levinson.
The film, set 20 years after the first Independence Day — which co-starred Goldblum and hit theaters in 1996 — again finds the United States waging war against a crop of aliens. Will Smith, who led the charge against the extraterrestrials in the original film, won’t be making an appearance; his character died following the events of the earlier movie. His son and widow will be featured in the new movie, however.
Here is the international trailer for IDR.
Find out who survives this war when the 3D film comes to theaters June 24.

Thoughts anyone? There is destruction on the scale that only Roland Emmerich can deliver. Is it overkill? Is there a chance that the spectacle of the movie might overshadow any substance in the story? Or is this just a “good guys vs. bad guys shoot ‘em out of the sky” popcorn flick?
