Toby Jones to join the cast of “Sherlock.”
The news reports he’ll play a villain in the second episode, which recently began filming. “I’m excited and intrigued by the character I shall be playing in Sherlock,” Jones said in a statement.
Co-creator Steven Moffat added, “Delighted to have Toby Jones on board, bringing to life one of Doyle’s finest villains.” Now let the speculation began as to which Sherlock Holmes foe he’s playing.
Following his breakthrough role in 2006’s Infamous, Jones has appeared in such films as Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, in which he played Arnim Zola, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Hunger Games. His television roles include Marvel’s Agent Carter and Wayward Pines. This will also not be the first time Jones has worked with Steven Moffat having appeared in an episode of Doctor Who playing the Dream Lord in the episode “Amy’s Choice.”
