Nick Zano to join “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”

citizen-steel-186179Nick Zano, of the recently departed Fox series Minority Report, will be trading in his precognitive powers for “enhanced body parts” as he has been cast to play the role of Citizen Steel in the upcoming season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

In the comic book, Nathan Heywood was part of a family that carried the name of Steel, and much like the character of Jax in Legends, was a star athlete until he was forced into retirement due bodily injuries so severe he had to have a leg amputated. Eventually he would have parts of his body replaced with something known as “living steel,” which would give him enhanced strength and endurance. In the comic book he would eventually join the Justice Society and its All Star Squadron.

Zano has been a steadily working actor with roles on Cougar Town, Melrose Place, as well as Happy Endings. However most fans will recognize him as one of the three precognitive siblings in the Fox series Minority Report where he played Arthur, a precog who specialized in establishing names in future crimes. He is very much in demand, but has frequently ended up on shows that don’t last long during the freshman season.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Marc Guggenheim, and stars Arthur Darvill, Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, and Victor Garber. The series can be seen on the CW.

Does this role of Steel sound like a good addition to the upcoming season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow? How about Nick Zano playing the role of Steel? Would you rather see some of the bigger named Golden Age heroes from the Justice Society be a part of this series?
