The director and her team will be in attendance. The second screening will be on Wednesday, July 27th at 3:00pm at the same location.
Starring American Scream Queens Tonya Kay and Tiffany Shepis, CRIMSON DANCE is an social-experimental 4-minute exposé about the importance of blood in our lives.
A primal and sensual dance is performed by a burlesque artist in an underground Hollywood cabaret to the delight of a blood thirsty audience, who watch in awe as she makes a splash to cure her ills. CRIMSON DANCE presents a conceptual burlesque performance with a twist that reminds the audience that blood can truly save lives.
“The idea of this film came to me through meditation, when I recalled how much blood my mother needed to survive leukaemia. In her memory, I wanted to do something artistic and provocative that would remind the viewers of the importance of donating blood for patients in need,” says writer-director Patricia Chica.
CRIMSON DANCE is written, directed and edited by Patricia Chica. Shot in Los Angeles earlier this year, the film is executive produced by London Scott of Extensions by London (Los Angeles), and produced by Michelle Romano (Boston) and Patricia Chica (Montreal). Co-Executive producer is Morris Umali (Australia). Associate Producers are Lily Spencer (Providence) and Tina Nguyen (Los Angeles). Cinematography by Rachel Dunn. First AD: Peter Ghabi. Special Effects Makeup by Ivan Sharudo. Makeup by Amira Aranda, Kimberly Shawn Geir, and Steven Royster. Props by Miranda Austin. Sound recording by Camille Fadl. All of these projects are at different stages of development and pre-production.
