Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen will pay a return visit to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow in the Season 2 premiere. That’s Oliver Queen, not Green Arrow.
“We’re going to see Mr. Stephen Amell playing Oliver Queen right at the beginning,” Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim teased this afternoon at Comic-Con International. “Actually, Mayor Oliver Queen.”
The Arrow star appeared in the Legends of Tomorrow pilot and in the Season 1 episode “Star City 2046,” which was set in a future where the city was overrun by criminals.
Amell won’t be the only familiar face crossing paths with the Waverider crew in Season 2, as it was also revealed Johnathon Schaech will reprise his role as Jonah Hex.
That’s of course in addition to Arrow-verse veterans John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn), Neal McDonough (Damien Darhk), Matt Letscher (Reverse-Flash) and Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), who will form their own Legion of Doom in the upcoming season
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns Thursday, Oct. 13, on The CW.

With all of the universe building happening on the CW properties, and with cast members being signed to appear on all CW/DC shows, is this a sign of what future TV programming might be like, or have the lines between each of these shows eroded just too much? Would you prefer to see more of a balance between the procedural, more episodic form as well as overall story-arc, multi-series story?
