Bonus clips and blooper reels signal the release of “Captain America: Civil War”

goofy-capOne of the great indicators that a hot movie property is about to have its release on home video is the flurry of stories talking about any bonus material aimed at those connoisseurs of such content, and the upcoming release of Captain America: Civil War is certainly no exception! As the movies from Marvel Studios have been building that cinematic universe, so has the bonus features, ranging from featurettes and documentaries that not only go behind the scenes, but also flesh out and do a lot of universe building, to outtakes and blooper reels.

With its home release coming next month, Marvel has released clips from the “United We Stand, Divided We Fall – The Making of Captain America: Civil War” featurette that will be included in the Digital HD, 3D Blu-ray, and standard Blu-ray.

In the first video, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen and the directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, discuss the burgeoning relationship between Vision and Scarlet Witch. “The way that they’ve intelligently linked them is that their powered from the same source,” Olsen says, “so where ever she gets her power actually came from the same stone that gives him his whole life.”

In the second video, Sebastian Stan discusses how he reacted when he first read the script. “I was really excited when I read the script,” Stan shares. “I didn’t really know where they were going to take it because the playing field was so open they could’ve done anything with the character. What was fun about the script was that when you’re reading him you never knew where he was gonna swing — with which side of the fence. He might become the Winter Soldier; he might become Bucky Barnes, so there was a lot of playing room, and that was fun.”

Of course with all things Marvel, it wouldn’t be a proper home video release if the studio didn’t share the more goofy, silly side of these otherwise “serious” actors!

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly-formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity, but after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

The film stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd and Frank Grillo, William Hurt and Daniel Brühl. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Patricia Whitcher, Nate Moore and Stan Lee served as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War will available on Digital HD September 2 and on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, Digital SD and VOD September 13!
