Dylan O’Brien Returns To Run The Maze For A “Death Cure” in February, 2017
20th Century Fox’s Maze Runner: The Death Cure is getting back on track as Deadline reports that cameras will again roll on the franchise sequel beginning in February. February 17, 2017 was originally planned to mark the film’s release date, but, following an on-set injury to leading man Dylan O’Brien earlier this year, production was halted to allow the star a full recovery. The movie should now hit the big screen January 12, 2018.
As with the previous two movies in the franchise, Maze Runner: The Death Cure is directed by Wes Ball from a screenplay by T.S. Nowlin, adapting the YA novels of James Dashner. It follows the events of 2014’s The Maze Runner and 2015’s Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, and co-stars Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Rosa Salazar, Ki Hong Lee and Dexter Darden.
The Death Cure novel, which concludes the dystopian science fiction trilogy, is officially described as follows:
