The Trailer for “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is here!
We had already met this new Peter Parker and given a glimpse of Spider-Man earlier this year with Captain America: Civil War, and while the short time we saw young Holland did manage to draw some rave reviews, here we finally see more of him “in his element.”
The trailer does make massive use of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, which could be the studio’s attempt to draw in any Iron Man/Avengers fans, and for those who saw the 20 second preview did catch a glimpse of Peter receiving a suit upgrade from Tony via Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), so Marvel Studios is clearly establishing how Peter/Spider-Man is very much a part of their Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The trailer is presented in such a way where we see the story go from light to dark, which is a normally presumed direction the movie itself will take, as we see Peter come to understand what it means to be a superhero.
But hey, don’t take our word for it… Check out the trailer yourself!
Spider-Man: Homecoming is directed by Jon Watts, from a screenplay by Jonathan M. Goldstein & John Francis Daley and Watts & Christopher Ford and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers, and stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr.
Doctor Strange is in theaters now, followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on May 5, 2017. Next up is Spider-Man: Homecoming on July 7, 2017, with Thor: Ragnarok landing on November 3, 2017.
