I am sure it is quite clear that The Two Gay Geeks attended Comic-Con International: San Diego this past weekend but, what happened there is another story. While we were relaxing in the Pro Lounge (a perk of having a Professional Badge) we were introduced to Geoffrey Thorne, whose credentials include writer-producer on Librarians and writer of Niko & the Sword of Light. While we were chatting he mentioned that as of just a few minutes before he was able to say that he was made show runner for the new Disney XD AVENGERS: Black Panther Quest.
AVENGERS: Black Panther Quest is the fifth season of Disney’s MCU spinoff Avengers Assemble series. According to Marvel:
The Black Panther-centric story will focus on who he is, his relationships, and Wakanda. “Arguably, Black Panther is the greatest superhero of all,” Marvel Animation’s Stephen Wacker said. “This show will show the world what Black Panther is all about.”
The series is to take place after Avengers: Secret Wars which will shake up the team dramatically.
Opening on Feb. 16, 2018, Ryan Coogler’s live-action Black Panther film stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, with Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown and John Kani.
