The Two Gay Geeks may be a little late to this party but, we felt this heartwarming, positive, and affirming video should be shared.
What is this I am talking about? The animated short “In A Heartbeat”. As posted on Youtube, the log line reads: A closeted boy runs the risk of being outed by his own heart after it pops out of his chest to chase down the boy of his dreams.
As of the writing of this post, the video has been seen over 7 million times on Youtube since it was posted on Monday July 31st.
Why do we feel it should be shared? Well, because it is touching and tender and gives some insight to what it is like into find someone attractive and be afraid, whether you are Gay or Straight.
“In A Heartbeat” was conceived and produced at Ringling College of Art and Design as the animation thesis of Beth David and Esteban Bravo. They held a Kickstarter campaign for funds to produce the film and raised five times the funds needed. As we are fond of saying, support Independent Creators if you see a crowd funding campaign going, you might be part of something great.
It is only four minutes long but conveys such emotion and warmth in that short time. I was left a little verklempt.
Here is the video:
