Isao Takahata, Studio Ghibli Co-Fonder Dies at 82

Editor Note: We woke up this morning to an email from our good friend and contributor Hamish Downie. He wanted to add this piece to his News Sushi but, we felt it deserved an article of its’ own.

Founding member of Studio Ghibli, Isao Takahata, has passed away. He leaves a haunting legacy, with the heartbreaking film (and companion piece to “My Neighbour Totoro”) “Graveyard of the fireflies”. I’ll leave you with a beautiful clip from his last film, “The Tale of Princess Kaguya”.
