Free Screening of VIDA – Includes Popcorn and Drink

The Two Gay Geeks have received information on a special screening of the new Star series, VIDA. This is a screening of the first two episodes free at the Harkins Christown theater on Thursday May 3rd at 7:00 PM. When you sign up you get a free small popcorn and small beverage combo.

Vida explores identity, culture, gender and sexuality through the lens of a Latinx family and their community. Featuring a strong cast with Latinx and LGBTQIA characters, it is a character drama about coming home, confronting the past and finally growing up. At its core, the show is about family and mending broken bonds. The series will look at the ever-changing demography of the city: how gentrification is impacting the community and the growing LGBTQIA population within the neighborhood. Vida is a bold and necessary step forward in entertainment, being reflective of faces and voices rarely portrayed on-screen. The show empowers and normalizes its LGBTQIA characters by creating and portraying an authentic world for them. The leads are predominantly female with Melissa Barrera, Mishel Prada, Chelsea Rendon and Maria Elena Laas and Ser Anzoategui is a non-binary actor.
