TG Geeks Welcomes Russ Kazmierczak to Contributing Staff

The Two Gay Geeks Welcome Russ Kazmierczak to the contributing staff.

Russ is an amazing all around renaissance man and go getter in the larger Phoenix community.

Join me in welcoming him to the staff of TGGeeks.com where he will provide a variety of content.

We first met Russ at the first ever Verde Valley Comic Expo in Cottonwood which is now in its third year. We made around and talked to almost everybody there, it being a relatively small venue. When we stopped by to talk with Russ he was Mr. Peppy as always and willing to share his excitement for comics and show us his work. During the conversation he mentioned that he was recording an episode for his fledgling Youtube Series “Phoenix Tonight”, a talk show a la Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show. We decided to go and have a look . He was utilizing a theater space in one of the buildings in Historic Roosevelt Row area of Downtown Phoenix and the guest that evening was none other than Brian Augustyn, famed comic writer/ editor living in the valley. At the end we said our goodbyes and he invited us to be on an episode of his show and we said yes.

Since that time we have learned that Russ is a go getter and wants to share his excitement about the Phoenix creative community with everyone. Whether that is stand up comedy, comic book creation, supporting Comicbook Stores, or just the zine community or other good causes, Russ is right in the middle of it. He routinely does charity work in the form of gathering comics artists for sketch-offs and signings at local venues. He has also hosted a Jack Kirby birthday party for several years.

The love that Russ has for Pop Culture is inspiring and his secret or rather not so secret passion is for one of the original boy bands from the 1960’s, The Monkees.

We can’t wait to see what Russ will dream up to contribute for us. It won’t be dull that is for sure.

Here is his bio he created for us:

Russ Kazmierczak, Jr. is the creator and self-publisher of “Amazing Arizona Comics,” a minicomic that satirizes Arizona news, history, and culture with superhero adventure. He’s the Phoenix New Times Best Storyteller 2018, and he performs poetry and stand-up comedy throughout the Valley. He’s also the biggest fan of The Monkees you’ll ever meet.

Welcome Russ Kazmierczak!
