Netflix introduced viewers to Prairie Johnson who took us all on one very esoteric ride on the cutting edge of sci-fi television (alright I admit I’m a genre nut and therefore biased) when it gifted us with The OA in 2016. and it looks like Part II is set to take fans into the great beyond…and another dimension.
The first official trailer for Season Two of The OA just dropped (February 27, 2019) and boy-howdy do things look set to next level. But don’t take my word for it, have a look-see for yourselves:
Synopsis: Brit Marling plays Prairie Johnson, a young woman who returns home after a 7-year disappearance. Her sudden return is not the only miraculous occurrence: everyone is shocked to learn that Prairie is no longer blind. While the FBI and her parents are anxious to discuss Prairie’s disappearance, she won’t talk about what happened during the time that she was missing.
Here’s what Season Two has planned:
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Batmanglij promises that this season is more of a noir. “We wanted to come in through the character of a cynical detective,” he shared with EW. This season’s set in San Francisco and is sure to make the best of what the city has to offer cinematically.
Official Synopsis: The “mind-bending” story returns with The OA Part II, which follows OA as she navigates a new dimension, one in which she had a completely different life as a Russian heiress, and one in which she once again finds herself as Hap’s captive. Part II introduces Karim Washington, a private detective tasked with finding a missing teen, Michelle Vu. His path crosses with OA, as they try to solve the mystery of Michelle’s whereabouts and a house on Nob Hill connected to the disappearance of several teenagers. Meanwhile, back in the first dimension, BBA, Angie and the boys find themselves on a journey to understand the truth behind OA’s story and the incredible realities she described.
