News Sushi #71 And we keep serving News Sushi!
Editor Note:It is Friday and that means it is time for the World Famous, soon to be Intergalactic Famous, News Sushi from our very own, Hamish Downie. Hamish brings us a decidedly different slant on Pop Culture as viewed through the lens of a non-native living in Japan.
Thank you Hamish, for your insights.
This Friday, Halloween has come early… because for some reason, everything I’ve been seeing lately has a dark twist to it… let’s get to it!
“Bite Me” Trailer
For the first, or second time (depending on when Naomi McDougall Jones’ interview is published), here is the fun trailer for the indie film, “Bite Me”.

BTS of Thea Riley’s latest music video shoot
Thea’s got a gothic feel for her upcoming music video for her latest trance track.
Inside a Polar Bear!
I traveled to Adventure World in Shirahama, Wakayama (Japan) with my partner this week, and they have this polar bear, that sprays you with mist as you walk through it. A very interesting “adventure”.
The best part of this trip was seeing Pandas up close. I still remember having to wait four hours at Melbourne Zoo, only to be rushed through the exhibit (we saw the Pandas for a grand total of 90 seconds from a distance).
Micro Poem with Andy Van Scoyoc
These DeadWorldTweets that Richard Lee are doing is fun!
#deadworldtweets I back away slowly. They match me step for step. I move, they move. I stop, they stop. This is not a game. They aren't playing with the prey, like a cat and mouse. No. They're engaging hunt mode. Soon they'll spring. Time to run. #apocalypse #killercritters

20 days in Japanese detention
We’re always warned about getting into trouble with the Police here in Japan. Honestly, his prison stay sounded a bit like my hospital stay last year! Still, very interesting reading.
Ding Dong…
Johnny Kitagawa, founder of talent agency that launched numerous boy bands, dead at 87. I can’t add much to this without being sued, but it’s an open secret in Japan what happens to the kids who join this “talent” agency, some from as young as six.
Ding dong, the serial abuser is dead. https://t.co/4yvfPzDlOv

WTF
"The Doll's Eye" plant is a very unusual plant when it is in bloom. This plant appears to have little eyeballs. Consuming the fruit of a doll's eye plant can have an immediate sedative effect on cardiac muscle tissue and kill you pic.twitter.com/i8nK1VJ3GJ
