The Two Gay Geeks 🏳️‍🌈 have a chat with Quinn Fontaine, an out trans guy comedian who talks about recovery from abuse and multiple addiction issues in his one-man show. We met Quinn at the book launch and signing for LGBTQ of Steel produced by Jan Dee Gordon and were very interested in chatting with him about his journey. Have a listen and we hope you enjoy this as much as we did.

About Quinn Fontaine

Quinn Fontaine is an out and proud TRANSguy who has a background in all things expressive [standup, sketch and improvisational comedy, installation work and found object sculpture].

He began his studies in Communications Media at Simmons College in Boston and continued his education studying Performance/Video at the California College of the Arts in Oakland. Fontaine went on to star in the independent feature, Some Prefer Cake. He also co-wrote, co-produced and co-starred with the sketch comedy troupe Nude Coffee, playing venues throughout the United States and Europe, most notably Edinburgh’s International Fringe Festival. Fontaine’s first-ever one-person show, LEARNING TO STAY, was selected for a fellowship with The Global Center for Cultural Entrepreneurship. Fontaine’s second solo show aptly titled KATHLEEN FONTAINE: THE MAN, THE MYSTERY!, played to sold-out audiences.

His book, HUNG LIKE A SEAHORSE: A Real-Life Transgender Adventure of Tragedy, Comedy and Recovery , is an International Bestseller. The companion piece, his solo show HUNG LIKE A SEAHORSE: the show + tell version, has gotten rave reviews and is in pre-production for an upcoming US National Tour.

Support Independent Creators

As you know we are huge supporters of Independent Creators and not just in film. TG Geeks supports any kind of creative outlet that’s independent in nature. We know we’re always pushing something, but we’re passionate about supporting indie artists. We ask that you to take a look at the independent creators we talk about and any others you may discover on your own and give a helping hand. It doesn’t have to be much, but every little bit helps in the scheme of things.

Amazon Ads

TG Geeks are members of the Amazon affiliate program. This means we link to items or place ads on the site to help defray the cost of this venture. We would appreciate it if you could at least click on an ad every so often – or follow a link to a product we’re excited to about — so Amazon knows we’re doing our best. It would be much appreciated. Also, if you happen to see something or want to buy something from Amazon, click through one of our searches and buy it that way. We get a small commission if you do. Thank You.
