The Two Gay Geeks 🏳️🌈 have a chat with JC Calciano, writer and filmmaker. JC tells us of his career from making one of the earliest MTV segments to his short films, feature film, book, and podcast, all surrounding the wildly popular Steamroom Stories. It was a blast talking to him. Have a listen and we hope you enjoy this as much as we did.
About JC Calciano
JC Calciano’s been working in the film business for 35 years in almost every capacity. In 2010, he decided to make his own films, so he started his own production company called, CINEMA175. His focus is gay, romantic comedy movies. His first film was, IS IT JUST ME?, a modern twist on the Cyrano Bergerac story. Next came eCUPID, a movie about a man who downloads an app to help him find true love.
JC’s third and most popular film to date, THE 10 YEAR PLAN, is a true story about two friends who make a pact to be lovers if single in ten years.
JC started writing books by adapting THE 10 YEAR PLAN into a novel.
In addition to movies, he also created a YouTube web series titled Steam Room Stories (SRS). The series became so popular around the world that it inspired him to make it into a motion picture (STEAM ROOM STORIES: THE MOVIE) and a book titled, REVENGE OF THE BROBOT.
JC loves telling stories, whether it’s a screenplay, novel, or series of sketch comedy routines. His love for writing inspired him to create a podcast from a collection of stories he’d written. The podcast is called, STEAMY STORIES, and it’s available on SteamyStoriespodcast.com.
