Writers in Kyoto releases its latest anthology, “The Nature of Kyoto”

Writers in Kyoto is delighted to announce the release of its latest anthology, “The Nature of Kyoto.” Its 30 contributors explore the nature of the old capital—its gardens, mountains, shrines, and temples—but also the inner nature, or soul, of the city. It’s a collection of fiction and fact, poetry and pictures exploring one of the world’s most enigmatic and enchanting cities. We invite you to join us on the idiosyncratic sojourn in Kyoto, that is our anthology.

“The Nature of Kyoto” is the group’s fifth anthology and was edited by Tokyo-based Lisa Twaronite Sone and Luxembourg resident Robert Weis. It features a foreword by Pico Iyer.

Writers in Kyoto began in 2015, since which time the group has expanded from seven members to more than seventy. It consists of published, self-published, and yet-to-be-published English-language authors, academics, poets, photographers, filmmakers, and more. We welcome people from all over the world who have a connection to Kyoto to become members: you don’t have to physically be in Kyoto, but your heart should be.
